And another one of the greatest accomplishments of NET-MED Youth is under the spotlight!
Our project supported the establishment of the first National Coalition of Youth CSOs in partnership with The Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD)/Princess Basma Youth Resource Center. The coalition was launched on March 30, 2017 at a media breakfast event and was highly acclaimed by everyone who attended.
Needless to say this is a significant step to establish and promote a vibrant and active civil society environment in Jordan.
The Youth Coalition brings together over 60 like-minded youth organizations under one vision and one set of principles. A first experience for the country and for civil society alike. All 60 organizations are focused on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is tightly woven into projects born under the Coalition. This approach aligns with the UNESCO Amman office’s leadership in supporting the government and the other stakeholders in the strong implementation of the 2030 Agenda and reinforces the notion that youth lie at the heart of sustainable development.
The Coalition will create programs and develop partnerships in order to help create solutions for the challenges facing youth and civil society.
JOHUD is in charge of coordinating the activities of the coalition.
